<summary type="text">Gender Differences of Human Resource Professionals in the Sri Lankan Private Sector

Gender, gender identity and gender differences are discussed by different scholars in&#13;
different contexts for different purposes as a popular concept today. However, in the&#13;
available literature, there is no any single finding on which gender most prefers to be&#13;
Human Resource professionals. There are couple of studies aimed to discuss sex&#13;
categories of HR professionals. Therefore, the problem of the study is: which gender&#13;
prefers to be HR professionals in the Sri Lankan private sector organizations. This&#13;
study selected 100 HR professionals as the sample, representing private sector&#13;
organizations in Sri Lanka and data were gathered using Bem Sex Roll Inventory&#13;
(BSRI) scale developed by Bem. The majority of the HR professionals in the private&#13;
sector were male sex – typed and it was more than 50% of the sample. Androgynous&#13;
type of gender presented by the HR professionals in the private sector was 20% and&#13;
same percentage of HR professionals was presented undifferentiated gender type.&#13;
There was no any single HR professional in female sex – typed gender.

<summary type="text">The Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Psychological Well- being of Public and Private Sector Executives Perspective of Postgraduate Students

Employees in any kind of an organization have to deal with a range of tasks, duties&#13;
and responsibilities. In order to accomplish their individual objectives and&#13;
organizational objectives successfully, employees are required to possess a set of&#13;
competencies and a required level of intelligence. With the evolution of the concept of&#13;
intelligence, emotional intelligence has become one of the more influential concepts.&#13;
It demonstrates the ability to monitor ones’ own and others’ feelings and emotions to&#13;
discriminate among them and to use this information to guide ones’ thinking and&#13;
action. Researches in this field have uncovered many relationships between&#13;
emotional intelligence and different human behavior. The objective of this study was&#13;
to investigate the nature of the relationship between emotional intelligence and&#13;
psychological well-being of public and private sector executives who are following&#13;
masters’ degrees from recognized national universities. A sample consisting of 200&#13;
participants has taken into consideration and the analysis is conducted by using 182&#13;
questionnaires. A structured questionnaire has used to collect primary data for the&#13;
study. The univariate and bivariate analysis were used to analyze primary data and&#13;
the major finding of the study was that there is a moderate positive relationship&#13;
between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being of executives in the&#13;
sample. Also there is a significant positive impact of emotional intelligence on&#13;
psychological well-being. Emotionally intelligent employees will possess a higher&#13;
level of psychological well-being and it will positively impact on their success of their&#13;
work as well as non-work life.

The business environment of today is characterized as both dynamic and complex. As&#13;
a result of that, commercial organizations face fierce competition on all fronts. To&#13;
deal with strategic planning in this businesses environment has become difficult and&#13;
corporate vision has been discussed as a major concept which is needed for survival&#13;
and growth. Formulating of a corporate vision is considered as the first step of the&#13;
strategic management process. This research paper discusses theoretical and&#13;
empirical research findings about the corporate vision and how researchers did&#13;
identify its importance.
