Area of the Study&#13;
As a significant determinant of job satisfaction of an employee, this study is to discuss the&#13;
impact of organizational rewards on job satisfaction of non-managerial employees in the&#13;
selected apparel organizations.&#13;
Problem of the Study&#13;
This research study attempts to explore the impact of organizational rewards to job&#13;
satisfaction of non- managerial employees in selected apparel organizations in Gampaha&#13;
district. Thus, the research problem of this study was; “Do the organizational rewards&#13;
have an impact on job satisfaction of non-managerial employees in selected apparel&#13;
organizations in Gampaha district, Sri Lanka.&#13;
Method of the Study&#13;
The data were collected from a convenience sample of 120 non-managerial employees in&#13;
the apparel industry with a structured questionnaire consisted of 30 questions with five&#13;
point Likert scales. Univariate analysis as well as bivariate analysis applied to analyzed&#13;
data with the SPSS 16.0 (Version).&#13;
Findings of the Study&#13;
The results of the study emphasize that there is a positive impact of organizational rewards&#13;
on employee job satisfaction. Also, it was proved that there is a significant strong positive&#13;
impact of intrinsic, extrinsic rewards on non- managerial employee job satisfaction. In&#13;
addition, the findings proved that age and gender do not mediate any relationship between&#13;
organizational rewards and job satisfaction of non-managerial employees.&#13;
Conclusion of the Study&#13;
It is concluded that both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards are significant predictors of&#13;
employee job satisfaction and both can be used to enhance the level of job satisfaction of&#13;
non-managerial employees in the selected apparel organizations in Gampaha district, Sri&#13;
Lanka.

Area of the Study&#13;
Career aspiration is one of the constructs of Career Development. Therefore this study is to&#13;
identify the determinants of career aspiration and its relationship with career aspiration of&#13;
Masters of Business administration (MBA) students in selected two national universities in Sri&#13;
Lanka.&#13;
Problem of the Study&#13;
Empirical and theoretical gap to identify the determinants of career aspiration and their&#13;
relationship with career aspiration of Masters of Business Administration (MBA) students in&#13;
selected two national universities in Sri Lanka.&#13;
Method of the Study&#13;
The data was collected from 153 respondents (MBA students) in the University of Sri&#13;
Jayewardenepura and University of Colombo by administrating a structured questionnaire&#13;
which consisted of 22 questions/statements with five point Likert scale. The data analysis&#13;
included the correlation and regression analysis conducted using SPSS 16.0 (Version).&#13;
Findings of the Study&#13;
It was found that there is a strong positive relationship between intrinsic factors and career&#13;
aspiration. There was a moderate relationship between job related factors and career&#13;
aspiration while there was a negative relationship between familial factors and career&#13;
aspiration.&#13;
Conclusion of the Study&#13;
Since there is a strong relationship between intrinsic factors and career aspiration, when&#13;
developing new career development programmes, management should pay their attention to&#13;
develop individual factors.

HRM practices on job satisfaction are a widely discussed topic today. Therefore this study&#13;
is aimed to discuss the HRM practices on job satisfaction of operational workers in the Sri&#13;
Lankan apparel companies located in Colombo district.&#13;
Problem of the Study&#13;
There are no any theoretical and empirical findings on how HRM practices affect job&#13;
satisfaction of operational workers in the apparel sector in Sri Lanka. Then, the problem&#13;
of the study is: Do HRM practices affect job satisfaction of operational workers in the Sri&#13;
Lankan apparel companies located in Colombo district?&#13;
Method of the Study&#13;
The data were collected from 300 operational level employees from four selected large&#13;
scale apparel companies in Colombo district through structured questionnaire.&#13;
Questionnaire consisted of 60 questions for HRM practices and 20 for job satisfaction and&#13;
all questions were scaled with five point scale. Correlation and regression analysis were&#13;
used to analyse the data using SPSS (Version 16).&#13;
Findings of the Study&#13;
The major finding of the study is that there is a significant and positive relationship and&#13;
association of HRM practices with job satisfaction. Further, there are few HRM functions&#13;
which strongly do not affectjob satisfaction of employees.&#13;
Conclusion of the Study&#13;
As conclusion, companies have to enrich the significant HRM function is to enhance the&#13;
employees’ job satisfaction based on the findings.

Area of the Study&#13;
This study is mainly focused on identifying the factors affecting graduates who have&#13;
chosen teaching as a career and what was their general perception on teaching as a&#13;
profession.&#13;
Problem of the Study&#13;
To investigate the main factors which were influenced to choose teaching as a career path&#13;
among graduates’ teachers in western province in Sri Lanka.&#13;
Method of the Study&#13;
The data were collected from randomly selected sample of 100 graduate teachers in&#13;
western province by using a structured questionnaire, which consisted of 47 statements&#13;
with a 5 point Likert scale. The data analysis included the univariate and bivariate&#13;
analyses.&#13;
Findings of the Study&#13;
According to the empirical evidence of this study, it is found that perceived teaching&#13;
ability, intrinsic value, job security, time for family, shape the future of children, enhance&#13;
social equity, make social contribution, work with children, prior teaching and learning&#13;
experience have high influence on graduates’ choice of teaching as a career and they&#13;
perceived teaching as a noble profession which requires hard work along with great skills&#13;
and high standards. As their perception, teaching career is has a well respected career&#13;
and a high social status within the society.&#13;
Conclusion of the Study&#13;
The identified factors which had higher influence on graduate teachers’ career choice can&#13;
be used to improve teacher recruitment and retention, reform teacher education and&#13;
professional development and finding ways to enhance teaching effectiveness.
