Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating effects of job satisfaction on employee-organization congruence (EOC) and job performance. The 384 self-administered survey questionnaires were distributed among permanent factory level employees in 17 large apparel firms in Sri Lanka. The 328 usable questionnaires were returned, yielding a response rate of 85%. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and structural equation modeling techniques. The study revealed that job satisfaction fully mediates with EOC and job performance. The end result of this study paved a new path for upcoming researchers to scrutinize how this link exists among different employees in a variety of sectors.
